Ferris Bueller Documentary Film - 90 minutes

The project is a feature-length documentary exploring how certain Films have a profound and dramatic impact on our society.  What is it about the creativity and power of the film medium and the big screen format that can reach so deeply into the human psyche that, even after so many years following the initial release, continue to grow new audiences and will continue to do so for generations to come?   Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is indeed one of those iconic films.  Through an examination of the recreation of Toronto Artist Sarah Keenlyside, Ferris Bueller’s room at the Virgin Hotel in Chicago, leading up to the 30th-anniversary event at Ferris Fest. The film includes scenes of the parade re-enactment, original film locations such as Ferris’ school, Cameron’s house and the streets of Chicago, interviews with fans that came from all over to be part of the festivities, and of course the original actors, including Edie McClurg, Cindy Pickett, and Lyman Ward, film critic Richard Roeper, and many of the colourful fan stories, and, of course, the replica of Ferris' Room in all its meticulous and remarkable detail.
